Happy 3rd Birthday Sophia

Sophie spent her birthday celebrating at school with cupcakes and came home with an "It's my Birthday" sticker.

6:30 Sharp

This is what I encounter every morning more or less at 6:30 am.

I can understand. I wish I were doing the same.

Stuff for Sophie

When we stopped in Nebraska, Suzi unloaded her trunk-full of presents for Sophie into our car. So Sophie got some more Tinker-ific merchandise.

We also got to spend an very early Christmas with Aunt Kayla, Grammy, & Papa Oney.

My camera died which is why there is only the pictures of Sophie unwrapping. She (obviously) went first.

Thanks for the gifts y'all. I know she loves EVERYTHING!

Nebraska vs. Iowa 2011

In their first season in the Big 10, Nebraska played their last scheduled game against Iowa Hawkeyes.

We were lucky enough to get tickets, which were provided by the generosity of my sister Suzi. So all 3 of us went to the game on Black Friday.

We arrived in Lincoln and the stadium early, so we went and found a spot in the tunnel so we could see the tunnel walk. Pretty neat.

Once the game started we found our seats near the end zone, next to the student section.

The game ended with a Nebraska win of 20 to 7.

Great end of the day for us.

Thanks Suzi!

Sophie celebrates 3

Her birthday isn't until Wednesday, but who can resist a party? She wanted a 'Princess party in Kansas', so we obliged. We even had princess party hats.

And princess pink cupcakes. She even picked out which person got which princess on the cupcakes. Brian got stuck with Cinderella. I thought that was kind of humorous. Does that make me the evil stepmother who is always telling him he needs to clean up the house?

And what would be a party without presents? She acquired several items- Little People, Baby, Baby's necessities, and clothes.

Some of which we'll have to try and configure to get them to fit in the trunk. I'll let Brian figure it out. It will be like playing Tetris, except the pieces will be a baby doll high chair, crib, and stroller.

Sophie has grown so fast since her past 3 birthdays and remains a joy still. Except when she tells us "no", or decides bedtime is a great time to interrogate us with questions or narrate her life story, or when she spits because she's mad, or .... nope.... she's still a joy.

Happy Birthday Sophia!

Walking around River Legacy Park

At Elizabeth's wedding, Jake and Rebekah mentioned that if you live in the DFW area and need a good park, you need to go to the River Legacy Park. Since that date in September I've always been meaning to go... I just never got around to it... until today. Sophie joined me through a nice walk in the woods.
