After a good nights sleep, with Connor sharing our bed and Sophie rooming with her Aunt Kayla, we decided to drive to Port Aransas' beach.
To get there we had to take the ferry. While our ferry departed a large oil tanker made it's way through the strait causing the ferries to wait and watch as it passed through.
Port Aransas beach was as I remembered it- clean, free of jellyfish, with a nice rolling waves. While there Connor spent most of his time asleep in the shade beneath the pier.
The rest of us rotated shifts and built sandcastles, collected seashells, and played in the Gulf.
I even got some 1 on 1 time with Brian without the kids. We had so much fun going out into the 'deep end' and jumping and crashing into the waves. It was kinda nice to play and talk together without the kids... doesn't happen often enough.
After we left, Sophie returned with the community collected bag of seashells and Brian a sunburn. Later while the guys stayed at home (Connor too), the girls went shopping. So everyone returned home with something, but only Brian returned with a sunburn.
