The theme this weekend since Suzi arrived seems to be water. It rained at the baseball game on Friday night, we went to an aquarium while it rained some on Saturday, and again it rained while we were at Grapefest on Sunday.
This was my first time in downtown Grapevine and a first at Grapefest... for all of us.
The thing I most looked forward to was the Grape Stomp competition. Suzi and I had hoped to enter, but apparently it is a popular event and we were wait-listed. We never actually got to compete. They did, however, have free grape stomping for kiddos. So I got to get in and stomp grapes there only because Sophie didn't want to do it by herself.
Otherwise there were bands, arts and crafts, and really neat stores all along Main St. Such as Napoli's Confectionary...
and Vetro Glassblowing Studio.
And they also had lots of carnival food, rides, and lots and lots of wine samples. Unfortunately, none of us were real big wine connoisseurs so it wasn't that big of a deal. I would however enjoy getting a tour of the nearby wineries on a nicer and drier day.
