Sea Life Aquarium in Grapevine

Saturday evening, after a morning and afternoon of college football, we loaded into the car to head to the Sea Life Aquarium in Grapevine, Texas. One of the interesting things about this aquarium is that it is inside the Grapevine Mills Mall and was open till 9:30pm. What we didn't know was that they closed the entrance 2 hours before they closed, so when we showed up at 7:40 we were 10 minutes past the time to get in. After talking to the staff and manager, we persuaded our way in! Hurray! (Would have been a huge disappointment if we'd have to get back in the car and drive back home).

The Aquarium had lots of fish tanks with a variety of animals. Sharks, stingrays, eels, puffer fish, jellyfish, clown fish (aka- Nemo), sea turtles, we saw them all and more.

They also had a lot of fun fact kid activities near each tank to explain some of the neat things about the species within. My favorite was finding out which 'stingray' we were. Sophie pointed to a very little one and told me that was 'Connor's".

Another thing that was nice, was everything was stroller height and allowed Connor to see the fish as well. Despite that not all the pictures show him looking at the fish, he did seem entranced at several tanks where he just watched the fish swimming by.

They also had this 360 degree tunnel inserted within their largest tank, which consequentially also held sharks. This was probably one of the coolest things here. Connor loved it. Sophie did not. She wanted to get out and be held.

Later they also had a place where you could touch some of the animals.

And obviously they had lots of 'bubbles' where you could see unique views of the fish and provide fun photo opportunities.

It was lots of fun, with a great staff who was kind enough to let us in late and answer all kinds of our 'fish' questions. Totally worth the drive and it kept Sophie entertained the whole time... even if she did want to "get out" on some of the places. The only downside probably was that because you aren't able to use the flash on the camera... some of my pictures came out fuzzy. Oh well.
