Today we had a double header to make up for our game that got cancelled 2 weeks ago due to the weather. It was cool, but the sun helped warm everyone up.
Our first game (Game 6) was against the Gators in green. Connor coincidentally blended in with his green sweater jacket, so he did some espionage on the competition. It's nice to have someone who is willing to go the extra step to help our team out.
It definitely paid off as we won the first game 15 to 3.
Afterwards the kids were rewarded with Halloween goody bags provided by Jerry's grandparents. The kids L-O-V-E-D it. Sophia and Connor spent quite a bit of time together going through their goody bags. It was almost difficult getting them to set the treats aside and get ready for our second game.
The second game (Game 7) was against the Pirates in yellow. That game was a bit more difficult, but we still managed to win 8 to 4.
I promise we didn't pay off the referee.
Unless you consider payment in the form of hugs and smiles.
We have only one more game left till the end of the Fall Soccer season. Some of the kids are already signing up for basketball with their fellow soccer teammates. It's nice to see how we've come together as a team. The friends the kids have made, the skills they've learned, and the dedication and teamwork they've accomplished together makes me quite proud. I'm looking forward to many more years of soccer with my two children.
