So many of the things I've done with summer school (experiments, projects, ideas) have come from Pintrest. Well here is something else I've completed with the kids help and the inspiration from another- our non-fiction observations and fact filled book about plants.
It contains in it's pages the parts of a plant- roots, stem, leaves, and flower/fruit. The 4 things necessary for plants to survive: sun, air, water, soil/nutrients. And much more. And it's at Sophie's reading level (with the exception of a few vocabulary words) so she can use the book to review the information we've covered this past week. I think this is a great way to make trips more enjoyable, plus a neat way to retain educational information in a fun form.
I made a copy for Sophie and one for Connor. And hopefully we'll have many more "books" to come this summer.
