Super Saturday at Stockyards

While Connor and Ainsley were in Salina enjoying a Saturday with the Bartons and Neeleys, Sophie got some "Mommy Daddy time". It's been awhile since we've been to the Fort Worth Stockyards and the weather was just PERFECT for the outdoor activity.

Sophie took some of her jar money that she's been saving and got an opportunity to spend it there. It didn't take long before she ran out of money. She spent everything on horses.... go figure.

When she quickly ran out of money and was unable to do the petting zoo and other paid activities, I think learned that she needed to prioritize what she should spend her money on and when to perhaps wait and see what else is available before making a decision. After her little allowance shopping spree, she was able to get 1 piece of candy. Brian and I laughed at how long it took her to decide and then how long she made the laffy taffy last before it was entirely gone.

And we also got there right in time to see the cowboys drive the longhorns from the stockyards, along the road, and then towards the rear of the train station.

Spent some time too with the longhorns.

And then of course spent a bit of time being silly.

Overall, we had a great time and hopefully when Ainsley and Connor are back and the train is running, we'll catch a ride on the train that runs from the Stockyards to Grapevine.
