Day Out with Mom: Dallas Zoo

So much has been going on lately that it has been nice to just take a break from everything and go visit the Dallas Zoo. Because I knew it would be hot, we got there right as the doors opened at 9am. And I'm glad because we didn't have to deal with crowds of people to see all the animals.

Anyone remember watching the birth of baby Kipenzi the giraffe? Well... she's gotten bigger.

And of course my children posed and climbed on everything.

We did have fun with some of them.

And of course we had to stop by the dinosaur exhibit. Connor was afraid of the mechanical t-rex.

Amazing how quickly they would clear out the fossils, but it takes FOREVER for them to clean their room. Maybe I need to cover their room in sand?

By 11 though we were pretty worn out. So we stopped for lunch and some water.

Overall it was a great Saturday morning and break from the chaos.

Irving Splash Park

After spending time at the Petting zoo, we traveled a mile or two away to cool off at the splash park.

While all the kids enjoy themselves, Connor running around like a monster "rawr-ing" at everyone...

... my water baby is Ainsley. She loves the water.

And Sophie is the activity coordinator trying to get everyone to join in to any kind of game.

Since we've gone here, Sophie and Connor have now informed me that we can't JUST go to the normal splash park (the one we usually go to nearby), but we need to go to a "new" or "different" one. Ainsley doesn't care so long as she can join in the fun and get wet. And all of them have asked if we can bring friends along, like Ian & Xander.
