Sophie Oney- First Grader

It's that time again!!!!! School supplies were collected, a new backpack and lunch box received, and a new uniform ready for her first day of first grade!

We knew we'd have a little trouble with her regarding her uniform, but after a day or two of seeing everyone in the same uniform, and she quickly adjusted and haven't gotten a complaint out of her since then. We have heard though that she loves her new school. HURRAY!

Because Momma (aka- Third Grade Teacher) also loves the school too!

How to ROCK Parent Orientation

Yesterday we had our parent orientation and let me just say- NAILED IT!

My classroom was ready and looking clean and neat.

Except for my desk... don't look at my desk.

YOU LOOKED AT MY DESK! Oh I am so embarrassed. Oh well... baby steps.

My parents came it and took a paint chip, which they put their contact information on it. Thank you unnamed store for your inadvertent generosity in providing these paint chips to me unknowing their use.

Then I had a newsletter for them... written in English AND Spanish. BAM!

While the parents were busy filling out paint chips, I had my students find their name on a pendant. Once they found theirs, I had them fill it out and color it.

After everyone left... I took a few minutes to cut out and hang up my student's pendents.

We are all ready for school on Monday!

Gone to the Park

Summer is almost at an end and we all just needed to get out of the house for awhile. We've had a very busy summer and it seems like school will soon be upon us. In less than a week to be exact. So we decided to spend some time outside together as a family before our schedule changes.

Walking Around

Ainsley has been walking EVERYWHERE! She's even been working on running. Needless to say... things have just gotten more interesting at the Oney house.

Baby Savage Coming Soon!

After years of hoping and praying, I am becoming an aunt! And I'm so lucky to be becoming an aunt this year, but also next year! Blessing abound!

The kiddos are equally excited about getting some cousins!

Last weekend, Ainsley and I travelled up to Kansas to participate in Baby Savage's baby shower. While there Ainsley got to bond with some kiddos closer to her age, particularly her distant cousin Harper who is only weeks ahead of her in age.

We had a great time celebrating Kayla and her baby. It was probably one of the nicest showers I've been too. They had it at the Old Volland store and the decorations were amazing.

Although the trip was short we are continuing our countdown for the arrival of Baby Savage! Hopefully within two months I'll be getting to meet my little niece or nephew!

Birthday Celebrations

With all the packing, moving, unpacking, teacher inservice, and everything else that has altered our normal schedule, we really haven't done much for celebrating Ainsley's birthday... which makes me feel guilty. (We did do cake though.... you just have to introduce her to cake!)

However, Ben and Dad came to Dallas a few days after we moved into the new place to celebrate their birthdays.

So we got another cake and spent an afternoon with them playing at the hotel pool.

Ben and Dad, thanks for sharing your birthday with Ainsley.

Swim Lessons

In addition to moving, we managed to get in a few swim lessons in at the YMCA.

This was Sophie's second year and third swim lesson.

And for Connor this was his first time doing swim lessons.

Ainsley just hung out with me in the visitor area watching her siblings.
