Turtles & Water at Dawn

While at Padre Island they had a notice up that the park rangers would be releasing newly hatched sea turtles into the wild. In order to witness the exersion to the sea, you had to arrive prior to 6:30am. And we made it just in time.

In addition to the baby sea turtles we were treated to a magnificent view of the ocean at dawn.

Plus, we got the additional benefit of a less crowded beach and cooler temperatures.

And while this was a beautiful vacation morning, it left us feeling a little tired on the trip home around 10 am.

  1. OMGOSH!! I love the baby sea turtles!! Sean and I tried to see some on our honeymoon but we never did. We knew where the nests were but never saw anything come out. It's so amazing how they just dig out and go straight for the water! Thanks for sharing those pictures, love it!
